Posted on October 2007 in Uncategorized
Preface
This will be a repository for step-by-step installation, setup and configure, specifically for Linux, Windows and ‘friends’. Because there are so many variables when installing OS for example, getting information for our specific task is very tedious. Searching the Internet using search engines is OK however, do you get exactly what you want? Does information is perfectly can solve your problems?
Let me put this way. For every personal computers there are many components that have several specifications. Let say one personal computer has 50 components such as bus architecture, processors, display cards, memory types etc. Every component will have different specifications and also comes from different vendors, different brands. Every user that buy the computer will own different specification gadgets. Then he/she installs the operating system, either Windows, Linux or both (multi boot). Obviously, different version of OS will have different specifications! Just consider the Linux with hundreds distributions - Fedora, Cent OS, RHEL, Debian, Mandrake, Ubuntu…
So, combining the computer hardware specifications with the OSes, we will have thousand to million variations! Next, user install applications such as Office, graphic software etc., many more variations. Those hardware, OS and software will have another type of variations, that is user customization.
Then let think one statement: Can Microsoft provide information for Windows installation on all the hardware variations??? Can Microsoft provide information for Office installation on different hardware and OSes variations combined???? Absolutely Microsoft can’t do that. Most of the solutions provided by users or customers based on the basic and general information combined with the trial and errors.
Well, let try building the repository for the readable and understandable step-by-step in installation, setup and configure. You can use the Categories link to browse by categories…
